MINNEAPOLIS, MN (February 23, 2012) – Egan Company President and CEO, Jim Malecha, announced today that Weber Electric of St. Paul will become part of Egan Company, effective March 2 of this year.
Founded in 1960 by Leo Weber, Weber Electric has served the Twin Cities Metro Area with electrical construction, service and communication work for over 50 years. While Weber Electric is becoming part of the Egan Company family, they will retain their office in St. Paul, and operate as; Weber Electric – an Egan Company. They will continue to be led by brothers, Steve and Rob Weber.
“We are excited to welcome the Weber team into our group of businesses,” commented Malecha, “This company shares our business philosophy of customer satisfaction and service and will be a positive addition to our existing offerings for our customers. They will also greatly strengthen our presence in the East Metro market.”
According to Malecha, a 10-year personal relationship between he and the Webers was the impetus to getting the deal put together.
“They have the same values, business philosophy and commitment to customer satisfaction as we do so we expect everything to come together smoothly in a positive and productive manner,” added the Egan President and CEO.
This marks the fourth electrical acquisition for Egan in the last 13 months. Enjoying a history dating back to 1945, Egan is one of the largest specialty contractors in the United States. The company offers mechanical, electrical, systems and curtainwall/glass construction and services employing approximately 700 people, seasonally adjusted, and representing 18 trade unions in Minnesota.
