The Austin plant is one of only two places in the US that makes SPAM, which is sold in over 99% of U.S. grocery stores.

  • Kestner Electric, a brand of Egan Company has long provided multiple electrical services to Hormel’s Austin, MN plant – the makers of SPAM and other popular food brands.
  • Special projects have included seven new two-megawatt generators, ten new carcass coolers, 13.8kv to 480 volt load center transformer change outs, ASRS (automatic storage and retrieval system) upgrades.
  • Over the years, Kestner Electric has also worked on numerous grain elevator and renovation projects.
  • UL 508A control panels were also fabricated to support various Hormel Foods locations.
