Building Technology Integration
- Richardson Elementary School recently completed a renovation and expansion to its existing building in North St. Paul, Minn. The Pre-K through fifth grade school currently enrolls over 500 children from within the district.
- Egan's technology expertise was utilized for various system improvements to add to its modernization of the school and its classrooms.
- The team’s scope included a new fire alarm system, installation of voice/data and fiber, upgraded access controls and intrusion system, intercom, wireless clock system, and audio visual systems.
- Egan installed a new fiber backbone to each data closet, as well as the school’s exterior sign and outdoor camera system. A new category 6 and 6A voice/data infrastructure was also provided for upgraded internet/wifi.
- Audio visual improvements were made within each of the classrooms which included full touch screen controls for the classroom’s interactive monitor and sound system. The classrooms also included a speech reinforcement system, which has a transmission feature for hearing impaired students.
- Building security was upgraded with new access control and intrusion system. Egan installed new cabling, card readers, and exterior door status sensors which added a heightened level of security for the students and staff.
