December 5, 2011
MINNEAPOLIS, MN (December 6, 2011) – The Egan Company Board of Directors announced today that KF Controls of Coon Rapids, has become part of the Egan family.
After serving the automation needs of concrete products producers and original equipment manufacturers for 28 years, KF has closed their shop and moved all employees, equipment and expertise into Egan’s main facility in Brooklyn Park, according to Egan CEO, Jim Malecha.
KF Controls partners, Phi Kramlinger, Eli Martin, and Tim Blair will all retain significant positions within Egan’s Industrial Controls Group. This is the third acquisition for Egan this year.
“With these acquisitions we’ve added more than 200 hard working employees both in our offices and in the field,” said Malecha. According to the CEO, the company is now back to pre-recession employment numbers with work in progress about two and a half times what it was at the start of the year.
Enjoying a history dating back to 1945, Egan is one of the largest specialty contractors in the United States. The company offers mechanical, electrical, systems and curtainwall/glass construction and services employing approximately 700 people, seasonally adjusted, and representing 18 trade unions in Minnesota.
