Lake Street Works
Lake Street Works is an after-school workforce development program for 11th and 12th grade students from the lowest income communities of South Minneapolis. LSW is a combination of two distinct but directly related elements: Trade Skills & Life Skills. The goal is that 100% of Lake Street Works graduates are prepared to follow any of the following career pathways:
- Enter full-time employment with one of our many industry partners.
- Apply for a construction trade apprenticeship or specialty trade certification training.
- Enroll in a post-secondary technical training program.
Egan is committed to providing career assistance, shop tours, and ongoing program support to aid in the education and development of the students in the program.
Go Fetsch Mechanical
Recognizing an industry shift and opportunity to partner with a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE), Egan sold one of its businesses, Fabricated Duct Systems (FabDuct) to Go Fetsch Mechanical, a long-time industry and project partner. Since the sale, Egan has maintained a collaborative and supportive partnership with Go Fetsch. This ongoing relationship has developed into mutual labor resources, shared fabrication services, and business support for both parties.
As Go Fetsch continues to grow, Egan’s Mechanical team has provided consulting services for business operations, project management, and strategic development. Go Fetsch continues to grow and become a trusted sheet metal fabrication contractor for firms across Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. With regular weekly meetings and check-ins, both entities have found support and shared business opportunities.
KW Specialty Services
KW Speciality Services is a disadvantaged, women-owned business providing insulation services for the University of Minnesota project. As part of preconstruction, KW Speciality Services emerged as a promising project partner for Egan due to its relevant experience, quality, and commitment to safety.
As a local union contractor, KW Speciality Services has provided mechanical insulation and scaffold solutions throughout the Twin Cities for over 15 years. By hiring KW Speciality Services, Egan helped support the economic growth of a woman-owned business and the partnership enabled KW Speciality Services to expand its workforce and take on additional projects, enhancing its capacity for future work.
Since the initial partnership as a project subcontractor for Egan, KW continues to grow. Egan’s initial subcontractor relationship has since expanded, with Egan and KW finding new opportunities to partner together and grow. The project aided in the development of KW’s business and potential future projects, and Egan continues to be a resource for expanding the professional network and opening possibilities for new business and operational growth for KW.
Castrejon
Since Castrejon’s inception in 1997, Egan Company has teamed up with the subcontractor on countless outdoor projects, forming a strong foundation for collaborative success and a long-time partnership.
Recognized as a Diverse Business Enterprise (DBE), Castrejon is a local subcontractor specializing in underground utility services throughout Minnesota. Egan’s 25+ year partnership with Castrejon has provided many opportunities for growth and future projects for both parties, oftentimes collaborating on project bids and hiring one another for ongoing assistance and consultation as needed.
Both Egan and Castrejon have seen tremendous growth as a result of the ongoing collaboration. New opportunities have arisen thanks to the trust and proven quality of work established over the last 25 years. Egan’s commitment to hiring and supporting small businesses has resulted in continued growth, new projects, and a trusted partnership that will continue to develop into the future.
