Electrical Prefabrication

Leading Projects With Innovation and Safety

Egan Company leads the way with shop prefabrication, packaging, and staging of components for our projects with a dedicated 40,000 sq ft prefabrication facility in Kasson, Minn. Our full-time prefabrication designer works hand-in-hand with field leadership to identify prefabrication opportunities and coordinates the work from start to finish. These efforts allow our tradespeople to bring work that was traditionally done on the jobsite into a much safer, efficient, and controlled environment. With no concern for weather conditions or jobsite considerations, we can be working on our projects at all times which allows us to better manage the difficult schedules we often face—and keep the job on track.

Prefabrication Benefits

It’s all about finding ways to reduce cost, improve quality, and promote safety on the jobsite. Our electrical prefabrication team has helped improve thousands of projects.

  • Controlled, where work is done in a safe environment
  • Constructability issues identified sooner
  • Increased quality of product; QA/QC of prefabricated assemblies is done in the shop
  • Reduced crew on the jobsite (less parking, break space, tools, etc.)
  • Reduced deliveries and storage required on-site – ship when needed
  • Reduction of wasted material
  • Lower overall total cost of installation

Industry-Leading Field Technology

Total Stations have become the highest standard for construction layout. Egan Company owns five (5) of the most advanced Robotic Total Stations for MEP contractors. Used to deliver digital information to the field, Total Stations operate in the X and Y axis to layout the locations of penetrations from underground utilities into the foundation, between floors of a structure, or roofing penetrations.

As more commercial and industrial construction jobs are centered around Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology, the coordinates for almost every pipe, conduit, duct, and hangar support are available with digital precision. The result is drastically improved field efficiency and accuracy; and, it allows for installation methods that reduce injuries. We actively train CAD/Revit modelers in data creation, train field personnel in daily usage, and collaborate with project managers/field leaders to customize the use and approach to each job.
